Satya Mohan Joshi, born on 1921 in Lalitpur, Nepal, is the folklorist,
essayist and poet. A former member-secretary of the Royal Nepal Academy
and founder of Nepalese Folklore Society, is also the Chancellor of Nepal
Bhasa Academy. He has to his credit about two dozons of books in Nepal
Bhasa including Nepalya Rastriya Bibhuti Kalakar Arnikoya Sweta Chaitya.
He is the editor of Bachadhangu Newah Khangwoh Dhuku/A Concise Dictionary

Madhav Lal Karmacharya, born on 1927 at Kathmandu, Nepal is the critic
writer, essayist, poet and translator. He is also a former

Laxman Rajbanshi, born on 1936 In Kathmandu, is an established storywriter
and senior educationist. He is the Founder Principal of Siddhartha
Vanasthali Institute and President of Newa Dey Daboo, a parent forum of
Newar community. His short story collections includes Namingvagu Sarga/Red
Sky (1988), Bulumi/Embers (1991), Dekha/The Secret Initiation (1994),

Tirtha Raj Tuladhar, born on March 10 1925 in Kathmandu Nepal, is the
first graduate of Patna University India with distinction (1953).
Broadcaster, editor, administrator and former Royal Nepalese Ambassador,
he is well-known and admired for his skill in translating the poems
written in Nepali and Nepal Bhasa into the English language. Among his
major translation works include Sugat Saurabha, an epic on the Life
History of Gautam Buddha, by Chittadhar Hridaya (1998), A Representative
Collection of Nepal Bhasa Poems (1997), A Harvest of poems in rwo volumes
by M.B.B.Shah, a poetic name of Late King Mahendra,(1964), My wish and
other poems of Vijaya Malla (1964). He also translated the European short
stories into Nepal Bhasa namely Akhe/The Sacred Grain (1965), for which he
received prestigious award Shrestha Sirapa (1966). He is the Biographer of
His Late Majesty King Mahendra and received the Order of Trishakti Patta,
Second Class (1975) and the Order of Gorkha Dakshin Bahu first class
(1979) by late King Mahandra.
Dr. Tej Ratna Kansakar, born on 1938 in Kathmandu, Nepal, is M.A. in
English and Ph. D. (Linguistics). He joined the Tribhuvan University in
1970 and appointed Reader in 1981. He is teaching English at the Graduate
Department of English Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kirtipur
Campus, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is the founder member of Linguistic Society
of Nepal (served as Secretary-Treasurer during 1980-82 and chief editor of
its publication during 1983-84). His publication includes Ganki/The
Eclipse, a novel written by Dhunswan Sayami, (1967), Nepal Base Short
Stories , written by Chittadfhar Hriydaya,(1977), A cource on the Newari
Language (1989), An anthology of Short Stories of Nepal (1992)and

Purna Bahadur Vaidya, born on 1941 in Bhaktapur, Nepal, is an established
poet and essayist in Nepal Bhasa and has Master degree (M.Ed) from
Tribhuvan University. His works are Sarasu, a collection of poems (1963),
Kavitaya Laga, a collection of writings on poetry (1995), La La Kha/Water

development activist and social worker. She is the patron of Women’s
Literary Forum and a life member of Nepal Literary Journalists
Association. Her publication includes an anthology of story in
Nepali, Lavaka Baphaharu (Steams of Volcano) 2002. Her stories,
translated in Nepal Bhasa, Hindi and English, are published in

Momila Joshi,
born on 1960, at Dhankuta,Nepal, is a poetess. She is a member of
Nepal Literary Journalists Association. Her publication includes
four collections of her poetry in Nepali, Painyu Phulna Thalepachhi,
Junkiriharu Worlirahechha, Nilo Nilo Aakash ra Due Thopa Aansu and
Durgam Uchaima Phulko Aandhi. She is the recipient of Padma Kanya
Award, Royal Nepal Academic award, Shatabdi Yuba Samman and Mohan
Smriti Samman Puraskar. Her poems, translated in Nepal Bhasa, Hindi
and English, are published in several literary periodicals and
